Kia Ora and Hello…
Drawing, painting, and making things have been my passion for as long as I can remember. Some of my earliest memories are of sitting in my pyjamas first thing in the morning, completely absorbed in drawing. Creating is still my favourite thing to do—and the place where I feel most myself.
I work across a variety of media, such as watercolour, gouache, pencil, crayon, printmaking, collage, alongside digital tools when necessary. I’m especially drawn to the tactile and often unpredictable nature of working by hand.
My illustrations are inspired by nature and the everyday. I aim to bring a sense of playful wonder to my work—embracing a childlike perspective rooted in curiosity, imagination, and the idea that ordinary moments can feel magical, full of surprise and joy.
I live in a small city in Aotearoa, New Zealand, with my musical husband, our daughter, and our cat, Picasso. Before becoming a full-time illustrator, I worked as a high school art teacher. Since then, I’ve been fortunate to be shortlisted twice for the Gavin Bishop Award, and in 2020 I was awarded the Margaret Mahy Illustration Prize.
Say hello and lets work together…
